Looking Back Through 2002

     2002 has been a good year.  There have been many events and programs that have taken place, relationships that have been formed, and lives that have been changed.  There have been so many opportunities for our young people to grow spiritually:

¨         Through serving others—WorkCamp, delivering fruit baskets, leaf raking, and caroling, just to name a few;

¨         Through spiritually focused activities--West Kentucky Youth Camp, Teen Leadership Conference, Evangelism University, FHU Girls Lock-in, Horizons, Youth Devotionals, Prayer Breakfast, Summer Youth Series, etc.

¨         Through times of fellowship with other Christians (which is a part of all of our activities).

This year we have been blessed with two of our young people going on a mission trip, and seeing our young men lead in worship.  Our "Little Ladies" Bible class has sent out countless cards, collected needed items for a mission point, and has done many other worthwhile things.

There were also many "fun" activities  planned last year.  We had several times of fun, whether it was bowling, going to the Paducah Athletic Club, game nights, or just someone opening up their home to the young people.  Many of the programs were in lieu of school dances.  I was very impressed with the number of young people that attended these fun activities instead of attending the dances (our young people brought so many visitors).  The parental help and planning on the fun nights was incredible.

2002 was a very good year, but I believe that 2003 can be much better.  In next week’s article I will cover what we need for a great 2003.  The Lord has blessed us beyond measure, and he can bless us even more (Eph. 3:20-21).

  In Him,

  Craig
