What a Summer!
The summer is zooming right along and it has been a couple of weeks since I have written a bulletin article. It has already been a wonderful summer and we are just a few weeks into it.
WorkCamp
This year was the 5th Marshall County WorkCamp and again it was a tremendous success. We had about 50 young people participate with a good number of adult volunteers. Even with the day and a half of rain we were able to complete all four houses. Mrs. Binkley, Mrs. Schmidt, Mrs. Angle, and Mr. and Mrs. Meredith were all extremely appreciative of the work that was done for them. I want to thank them for allowing us the blessing of serving them. Marshall County had several congregations involved in WorkCamp: Briensberg, Benton, Walnut Grove, OakValley, North Marshall, Union Hill, and Calvert City all had people participate in the WorkCamp. We have now painted 21 houses and have hopefully touched many lives. Be planning for WorkCamp 2004.
Teen Week
We had a great number of our young people attend teen week at WKYC. I taught Bible classes and could not have been more impressed with the teens especially ours. During awards night Jared Hall won Best Sportsmanship, Drew Cordle won Best Bible student, and Garett Travis won favorite male staff member. Grant Riley was the runner-up in the best Bible Bowl teen week has ever had. Many others of our congregation were nominated for each award. We are blessed.
SYS Next week is at Cuba and the van will leave at 6:00 p.m. sharp!
