What A Blessing!

  Sunday night was a wonderful evening.  Our young men did an excellent job leading our worship.  I want to take a moment to recognize our prayer leaders: Marshall Hall and Garett Travis, our scripture readers: Andy Harrington, Gary McCaleb, Levi Thompson, and Jared Hall, our song leaders: Devin Hall, Drew Cordle, Chris Philips, and Alex Appleton, and our speakers: Brad Dougherty and Derek Vaughn.  It was evident that each of the young men put time into preparing for their part in leading.  The service was an encouragement to me and I believe that it was to you.  I pray that we continue to encourage our young men to lead in worship, not because it is pleasing to us, but because it is pleasing to God.

Teen Week Retreat

  The teen week retreat is September 12-14.  Applications need to be turned in by this Friday September 5.  The cost for the retreat is $35.  Each year the retreat provides a spiritual atmosphere where God’s word is studied, his praises are sung, his power is petitioned in prayer, and his children fellowship.  I want to encourage any young person who is 13-18 to attend this retreat.  If you have any questions, please ask.         

Youth Devotional

     I want to thank Randy and Amy O’Bryan for opening their home up to us and hosting the youth devotional last Sunday evening.  We had a very good crowd in attendance.  There will be a new devotional sign-up sheet in the lobby soon.  Please sign up for a date to host our young people.
