How to Talk With Your Kids About Sex

"So what are your friends saying about sex?" we asked our daughter who had just begun kindergarten at our local Christian school. We've always gotten better results asking what her friends think than asking what she thinks.
"
Well, Billy says he wants to have sex with Mary," she replied, and we quickly considered selling all our possessions and moving to the hills until she turns 35. It was obviously not too soon for a little chat.
"
What did Billy mean when he said he wanted to have sex with Mary?" we asked reluctantly. "Well," she started, "he says it's when you get naked under the covers." After a brief discussion of the beauty and wonder of God's plan for sex in marriage (and a strong admonition to stay away from Billy) we realized she needed more information--and sooner than we had anticipated!
