- Gouy ave, located at St. Johns, Grenada, West Indese,
Minister, Theodore LeBlanc, we began support Oct. 1, 1993. It has grown to an
average Sunday attendance of 85 to 90. There has been 10 baptisms in the past 23
months. The Gouyave congregation has recently purchased a plot of land to build a
church building.
- St. Maartens Church, St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles,
Caribbean, Islands. Minister, Sylvester Celestine, Calvert support started Jan. l,
1997. Their membership is 50 and a Sunday Morning attendance of about 60.
There has been 3 baptisms in the past 23 months. St. Maartens is a 37 sq. mile
island. The congregation is in the process of completing a new church building and
moving in it.
- Macquarie Church, North Ryde (A suburb of Sidney
Australia), NSW 1607. P.O. Box 41, Australia. Minister, Peter Tickner. Our
support started on Jan. 1, 1997. They have 25 members and an average Sunday morning
attendance of about 30. There are about 75 Churches of Christ in Australia with
about 2500 members. In the past five years, 2 new congregations have begun by people
converted and trained at the Acquire Church of Christ. There has been five baptisms
in the past 16 months.
- Cluj Church of Christ, Muresului N.R. 10, Cluj, 3400
Romania. Minister, Dan Davis. The church there begun in Oct. 1996. This
congregation has 11 members, 6 Romanians and 5 Americans. It has a Sunday morning
attendance of about 22.They are small in number but very active. They do a lot of
benevolent work in a pediatric hospital in Cluj. A lot of much needed items are
given to to these needy children is donated by the supporting congregations in
America. Last December the Cluj church began benevolent work with a group of 40
families and about 100 children who live an an abandoned building by the military.
It has no windows or doors, no heat, electricity or running water. Several
congregations in America that helps support Bro. Davis sent Cluj congregation money to
help buy food, medical and other needs there. Calvert also with this project. There has been 9 baptisms at Cluj in the past 28 months.
- Bro. Steve Waller mission fund, Jakarta, Indonesia sponsored by the North
Marshall Church, 3290 Palma Road, Calvert City, Ky. 42029. Our support began
March 21, 1998. Indonesia is the fourth largest nation in the world with 200 million
people. There are only 58 congregations of the Lords Church in Indonesia. This
is truly a great mission field. Bro. Waller teaches in a Bible College, does private
Bible studies, preaches as needed in the Church in Jakarta. Bro. Wallers main effort
is to develop churches and preachers in that area of Indonesia.
